2017 CLIENT AWARDS NIGHT
Our second annual client event was held at the brilliant Curious Eatery where we were treated to delicious real food creations, an entertaining quiz, lots of laughter and a few awards!

2017 has been an incredible year for a number of our clients so choosing award winners certainly wasn’t an easy task. Any one of our ‘client of the months’ could have scooped these awards, but our four winners shone that little bit brighter!
THE INSPIRING OTHERS AWARD
SHARON GRIFFIN
Sharon’s own progress story is inspiring in itself but this year she has gone out of her way volunteering countless amounts of hours to mentor a group of breast cancer survivors to complete a triathlon with the Team Phoneix Foundation charity. She is proof that the more you invest in your own wellbeing, the more you can help those around you – because as well as volunteering all these hours Sharon was still working full time and raising her two girls! SIMPLY AMAZING!
CLIENT OF THE YEAR AWARD
KAYE SMITH
When Kaye was first referred to DayOne her body was in such a bad way that her first goal was simply to walk unaided. The pain she experienced every day had left her mentally as well as physically fragile. However one year on and the only characteristic we still recognise is her unbelievable determination. She regularly has us in fits of giggle and although her arthritis is currently still active, her inflammatory markers are the lowest they’ve ever been and her new goal is to now be able to walk upstairs without holding on! ACHIEVEMENT OF THE YEAR AWARD
SHELLEY LINDLEY
Two marathons in two weeks, breaking her PB twice and all whilst going through an incredibly emotional time with her family. Shelley is one of those people who never recognise’s or acknowledges just how amazing she is! What makes this more impressive is when Pip first met Shelley struggled to run a single mile let alone 26.2! Read Shelley’s full story here.
COACH OF THE YEAR
PENNY LAZELL
Changing career at any age is a daunting prospect, but the later you leave it the harder it becomes. Penny (who we’re almost certain has found the fountain of youth) has made this transition look easy. Since joining D1 Pip has dropped her in the deep end on more than one occasion but everytime Penny has swum to the top and made it look easy – even though she’ll tell you otherwsie! Her passion for wanting to help others experience the benefits she felt after turning her own wellbeing around combined with her determination to learn and progress as a D1 coach make her our coach of the year 2017! Well done Penny!
